Whitney Elizabeth Houston was the youngest of the children of the singer Dionne Warswick and gospel music legend Cissy Houston. Whitney Elizabeth Houston grew as a child in a household of musicians. The mother of Whitney Houston and her daughter began singing professionally at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark in the year Whitney was just 15 years old.
