Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder chose her name after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother, were both authors as well as editors. Ryder is a self-described Jewish, is descended from Ryder's Jewish father. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are Ryder's half-siblings. Ryder's family relocated from Mendocino County to California when she was seven. There, they didn't have electricity. Television books were the only way for Ryder to spend the time and she became an avid reader. When she turned 12 years old, Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. When she was fifteen, she landed her first part onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder experienced bullying at the high school. Ryder hoped that her actions might change the situation. Unfortunately that didn't come to pass. However, she pushed on with her dreams. Ryder made her breakthrough with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder was able to continue playing roles that were successful in various films. In 1993, Ryder was nominated two times for Academy Awards.
