John Denver is a popular performer and songwriter that has influenced many with his music. Most of his songs have roots in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf from Roswell in New Mexico, was in love with Colorado. He moved to Aspen. More than a few people made their way toward Colorado following the Denver's cult national anthems in his new home. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared it was because John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. In 2011, Denver was selected as the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. Denver is the icon of Colorado to a large number of people throughout the world. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief stint in a folk group which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff initially wrote the song by putting Johnny Cash's song in his head, however Denver knew from the first time he heard earlier versions that the track was going to be an instant popular. In the days following his performance before a large crowd at Washington D.C., the musician recorded the track.
